Bienvenidos a Buenos Aires!

It's the beginning of day 3 in Buenos Aires, and this city is fantastic! One of the BC kids described it yesterday as "how New York would be if New York was in Miami, with a touch of Paris," and from what I've seen so far, this seems pretty accurate.

My host mom, Mecky, is really sweet and likes Americans a lot. She says we adjust well to Argentine life and that she never has to worry when she has an American come to stay. She also really likes my name, so it's nice that at least one person here will call me Alessandra, instead of Ale.

Yesterday I spent the day with the BC group (there are 10 of us studying at UCA) eating, absorbing information, wandering the city, and teaching our enthusiastic Argentine bartenders (we went out to watch the super bowl at night) about American football. 

I have to go get ready for my first day of class (we take a month-long course to adjust ourselves to the particular way Argentines speak Spanish), but hopefully I'll update more soon!
